The statistics of how much a College Football game makes and the salary payments for those playing College
Football needs to be attended to. Players who play football can’t always for-see a possible injury in a season.
Nor can they get a direct number from their coach based on a scholarship. Though with that possible injury
while on the field, it can also determine a football player's future. So with a payment for each game a player
plays while on the field, can help those players who may get a possible injury. In which by using the money
that they earned playing football can pay for most of the expenses, if at all. By which, I think Football players
should be receiving salaries based on their football experience in college.
I will be going over a few main reasons why we should be paying Football College Athletes. These reasons include
from the sources, Should College Students Be Paid? And The Myth of the Sports Scholarship.
If an injury happens on the field, and they lose their scholarship. They would then have to pay their whole tuition in
full, which could take many more years now without that scholarship and without being paid. On top of that,
they would even have to pay for the expenses of each and every injury that had occurred to them while on
the field. But on the down low, there could be other players who get paid more than the other player.
Then with the fact of College Sports bringing in so much money every year, not all of it is being used, sometimes it
just is being distributed amongst bigger companies while the students are doing all the hard work. With their
hard work, some colleges aren’t giving students that type of opportunity to get more money to use towards
their education and learning. Which is sometimes not allowing college students to keep going to school. As
you know though, school is the most important thing. But College comes with a cost. How would you expect
a newly graduated college scholar to pay all that money back? Well, that answer is simple, pay
the students accordingly, help them pay their schooling, and let them enjoy the years of college while
they have them. Another low could be the students overworking themselves for the best scholarship, or
the best play, and sometimes that isn't fair either.
There is said to be that the NCAA provides insurance, but only 12 have been accepted in the last 20 years. Why?
Well because that player has recovered, even in the slightest bit possible. Then those who are permanently
hurt from playing football, are the ones who get the insurance. So without that insurance many people are
in trouble there as well. The medical bills will just keep racking up without some kind of good insurance
that will cover most of the expenses. So even if players do get paid, that will help them immensely.
There are also times when people are trying to get scholarships that their coaches will try to make a “good” deal with
their recruiters. When in reality that said coach will most likely never give you an exact number. And that is
what worries me the most. They say they will give you the best scholarship ever, but in reality only be such
a small percent of a full scholarship. So with smaller scholarships, more people are out of luck. So having
them paid will help with all the expenses that a player will ever endure.
But then of course, there's the one person who declines the said argument of paying student athletes. And that was
Christine Brennan. She had pointed out a good argument and said that if one sport was being paid, Why not
other sports? The single most important thing here is the fairness of paying for other sports as well. It’s
strong because she actually has a point, what about the other players of the sports world? What will they
do without that extra payment on top of their scholarships? Well, they would probably have a
complete riot if that was the case. It would be fair to pay for other sports as well. But that's not my
side of the matter.
